Two podcasts in one month! Welcome to the more regular future of TOGCast. Mike and Mark meet up to talk about the big Nintendo reveal, January gaming and a actual hands on with the latest in the epic Yakuza series, Yakuza 0.
We even discuss financing options for 4K Upgrades and the use of loan sharks.
After the wall of silence, Hello Games surprised us all on Friday with a cryptic news post about a new patch. Dubbed the Foundation Patch, as it is meant to be the start of things to come. Then all of sudden on a sleepy Sunday morning, the full patch notes dropped on the No Man’s Sky website (You can see them here) followed by the actual patch downloading on to my PS4.
Rather then trying to write up my impressions of patch, I thought I would try that new fangled YouTube to make a video detailing the changes and my first attempts at a new world.
The Division came out of hiding this week with a closed beta, that I was able to get access to . Ubisoft have a lot riding on this game after a less than stellar 2015. First shown at E3 back in 2013 with a stunning trailer that gave a glimpse of what our next gen future could look like and it looked mighty fine. Since then the reality of these current consoles has hit home and Ubisoft have fallen foul of this on a number of occasions. With Watch Dogs final visual quality compared to its original E3 showing and Assassin’s Creed Unity’s issues. I, like many others, had not expected much of The Division and for me it had dropped off the radar.
This past weekend though, Ubisoft launched a closed beta and I was able to get a key for it and spend some time with the latest in the Tom Clancy series. All I can say is I liked it!
It will come as no surprise to some people that I am a bit of a Star Wars fanboy. Let me correct that, I am a renewed Star Wars fan after JJ brought back the faith back in December and having had a Christmas that may of had a theme to it…
Star Wars is back in my life big time and whilst Star Wars Battlefront, and its future DLC, scratches that original trilogy itch, there is not a game for The Force Awakens (that does not involve the purchase of more plastic figures that I cannot hide from the family). Thankfully, Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens was announced for pretty much every platform available. The game is coming out on 28th June 2016. Which is around the same time as the home release of the film itself. The game will not only bring the story of The Force Awakens to the Lego universe, it will focus on content exploring the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Breaking news! The Uncharted 4 Multiplayer beta that is meant to launch on Friday has been brought forward to tomorrow. From 5pm GMT Thursday 3rd December, you can download and take part in the beta. The only provision is that you purchased the Nathan Drake Collection. The beta will be accessible from within the collections main menu and will require a 7GB download.
The details of what is included in the beta are still under wraps, but it wont be long for you to find out. The beta runs until the 13th December, giving you a whole 10 days to get hands on with Naughty Dogs newest game. In the meantime lets take a look at Paris Games Week Trailer.
With the launch of Batman: Arkham Knight, I take a look at the pre-order bonus, Harley Quinn Story pack. A single contained mission fro Harley Quinn, with her own moves and weapons. In this mission, which takes place before the events of Arkhham Knight. Harley Quinn is sent to Bludhaven Police Station to break Poison Ivy out.
Seeing as I now have my most wanted game of 2015 and this generation so far in my hands, expect quite a few more of these vids over the next few weeks.
Announced at E3 2013, it seemed that Avalance Studios Mad MAx game had ended up in its own development wasteland. Fear not! The game is not only alive and well, it looks stonkingly brilliant too! With a new installment of director, George Miller’s apocalptic vision coming to cinema this month, there could not be a better time to take the first look at what the game will look like. Thankfully, Avalanche have released a developer diary video that takes a deep look in to what to expect when the game launches this September.
With its blend of Car combat, brawling fights, gunplay and exploration… Mad Max is riding high on my list of must have games for later this year...
With SHAREfactory coming to PS4, it gives a geek like me the chance to flex my editing muscle and combine a selection of this weeks game-play captured with the SHARE button on the PS4 controller and share with the world. This week has seen me getting stuck into ACIV Black Flag at long last, chasing down friends times in Trials Fusion, Getting my David Bailey on with the new Photo mode in inFAMOUS Second Son and enjoying some time with Knack (Yes, I am enjoying Knack!). Cue this up with some funky music and you have a quick look at some of this weeks highlights. Enjoy!
